More About Kim

Hi and Welcome!

Thanks for checking out my coaching services! I would be truly honored to join you on your journey of self-discovery and development. But why choose to work with me?

I believe in the following basic principles:

  • You can do anything you set your mind to with the right resources and inner motivation.

  • You have access to all the answers and direction pointers you need to evolve.

  • Bringing people up and bringing out their best not only helps that individual, but also helps society and the world as a whole. When we bring ourselves up, we bring the world up.

  • If you live from your heart with good intentions, fear and anxiety tend to melt away.

  • Trusting yourself is the key to change.

I have your best experience in mind when I coach. You deserve a life that feels fulfilling, energized and meaningful. Why else are we here?

Growth Mindset

The mindset we choose to adopt is often the thing that divides us into the fulfilled and not fulfilled categories. I use coaching techniques and tools to enhance the “growth mindset” in my clients. A growth mindset reframes “failures” as learning experiences, fears as opportunities for growth, and barriers as puzzles to be solved. Ever the optimist, I listen deeply, and then help you reimagine possibilities for how things can be different.

My Style

I believe in the power of laughter and not sweating the small stuff. I am creative and curious and frank and informal. I am your mirror, and I reflect back your thoughts and words so you can truly hear yourself. I bring lots of positive energy to every session, and I synthesize different pieces of information to offer insights and resources to help you consider other possibilities. I offer you unconditional support and positive regard, and a safe space for you to think, experiment and find joy in your successes and nuggets of wisdom in your challenges.

I truly do believe in magic! And I mean that in the most provable way. It feels like magic sometimes to use your imagination and intention to actually make progress on things that felt unattainable. One healthy decision often leads to another and before you know it, you want to be a health coach :)

Personal Experience

I have faced my own health and personal challenges and draw upon personal experience for many insights and resources. I have been living with the autoimmune disorder celiac disease since 2019, and have learned how to navigate a strict gluten free lifestyle with grace. Often people don’t realize how socially devastating it is to not be able to have spontaneity around food or not be able to eat at most restaurants or have others cook for you, and it can be a steep learning curve to feel adjusted after a diagnosis of celiac or gluten intolerance. Not to mention the intense advocating most people have to go through to even arrive at the correct diagnosis.

I manage chronic pain and soft tissue issues that are likely due to another yet undiagnosed autoimmune disorder. When you have one, you are much more likely to have another.

I lost my father early to an aortic dissection, a condition that runs in my family. I carry a possibly related genetic marker and have had to incorporate awareness of the risk factors for that medical condition into my lifestyle.

I was a pack a day smoker for almost 15 years, and navigated quitting for good in 2010 after many attempts.

I was both a giver and receiver of an intense experience with bullying in grade school, which shaped much of my social interactions from that time forward. I have faced social anxiety and depression, including existential depression, and have found ways of overcoming those challenges.

On the positive side, I have always been driven to succeed and have a wealth of tools and insights that have helped me accomplish some large goals. I was a competitive gymnast and the Vermont Highschool All-Around gymnastics champion my senior year in high school. I graduated magna cum laude from college on a full scholarship. I backpacked around Australia with my best friend for four months, meeting all kinds of people. I ditched most processed food around the same time as quitting smoking, and my husband and I made a plan to get out of debt, and achieved it. We designed and built our own tiny house in the islands of Lake Champlain in Vermont (literally with our own two hands, with no prior experience), and grow a lot of our own produce in our permaculture-inspired gardens and landscape. I earned my Permaculture Design Certification in 2013. I love gardening and coaching around gardening and helping others discover the myriad benefits of the gardening lifestyle! I’ve had a 20 year long career in graphic design working with all kinds of clientele and on all kinds of projects. I have honed project and time & energy management skills, and was promoted into a managerial position. I have found that the synergy between design, psychology and coaching is powerful.

With my certification as a Health and Wellness Coach from mindbodygreen Institute, my design background, and my love of and wonder at the natural and unseen world, I hope to serve others and help them forge paths to wellness, fulfillment, and purpose. Self-discovery is at the core of all coaching practices, and figuring out what makes you tick can be exhilarating. Often what happens on a journey like that is a spiritual awakening, to purpose and wonderment of the universe. I am deeply attuned to the metaphysical, and would like nothing more than to help you find your place, purpose and reason for being here.
